What’s the difference between contract and covenant?
While both are legally binding agreements, the key differences lie in their scope, remedies, and duration:
A Contract is a reciprocal agreement where parties exchange specific acts or values (consideration). If one party fails to perform, the other is usually excused from their obligations.
A covenant is a relationship between two partners who make binding promises to each other and work together to reach a common goal. They’re often accompanied by oaths, signs, and ceremonies. Covenants define obligations and commitments, but they are different from a contract because they are relational and personal.

The Covenant Keeping God initiates, unbreakable promises with humanity. It is a covenant relationship. God’s commitment to humanity is based on unconditional love, radical Forgiveness, and Sacrificial Service rather than a transactional, conditional contract.
