Apr 22 – that I may receive my Sight

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Our study today comes from Mark 10:46-52. Jesus meets up with a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, who stood in stark contrast to the Pharisees and the disciples when it comes to seeing Jesus for Who He is; Unlike the crowd following Jesus, Bartimaeus, who could not see, sees clearly Jesus’ identity. Here was a man who was very conscious of his blindness in contrast to the disciples who were not.

Today we are looking into how persistent and bold faith (ignoring critics and abandoning old dependencies) leads to experiences in the path of grace and growth in life.

  1. How would you describe Vision?
  2. How would you describe Faith?
  3. Describe the connection between Vision and Faith?
  4. How would you describe the faith and vision of, the disciples and multitude, following Jesus in contrast to that of Bartimaeus?
  5. Why did Bartimaeus refuseto be silenced (ignoring critics and abandoning old dependencies)?
  6. What does verse 50 say to you?
  7. Why do you think Jesus ask the question from an obviously blind man in verse 51?
