LESSON INTRODUCTION
God has put in your heart to do something that will end up changing, for good, the trajectory of your life. All the resources you believe you need appear to be in place for you to accomplish the task before you. In the course of performing the task, what will you do when you experience discouragement due to unexpected events that get in the way of your progress?
Today we are examining how to overcome Discouragement that comes through Deception and Distractions by comparing the call of Gideon (Judges 6:11-24) and the Temptation of Jesus (Matthew 4:1-11).
Deception and Distraction are both tactics used to shift focus and Discourage you from acting. While Deception alters what you believe, Distraction alters where you look, and Discouragement alters your willingness to act.
