Focus: Learning how effective questions can challenge assumptions, clarify doubts and seeking innovative solution.
Main Text: Matthew 7:7-11, Luke 1:5-38,
While some questions open doors to deeper understanding, others can shut down dialogue altogether. Being able ask the right questions can change the trajectory of your personal relationships, career, and even your worldview. It’s not just about seeking answers — it’s about expanding possibilities, uncovering truths, and fostering genuine connection.
Study Discussion
The questions you ask determines the answers you get. What type of answer(s) would you get from the following questions? What do you think is the goal of the “questioner“? Which questions come from a place of curiosity or a place of Judgment?
- “Are you happy”? vs “What are the things that bring you joy the most?”
- “Why did you do that?” vs “What led you to that decision?”
- ” Do you share the same interest with your friend?” vs ” What common interest do you and your friend share?”
- “Is the Bible the Word of God?” vs “How is the Bible the Word of God?”
Thoughts to consider.
- Am I asking for a change of circumstances or a change of character?
- Am I seeking a yes or seeking his will?
- Is this question rooted in fear or in faith?
- Am I asking for a blessing or am I asking to be a blessing?
- Do I trust the giver more than the gift?
- Am I asking the right questions?
