  • What was the main message of John the Baptist?
  • Look at verse 7-8, how can you describe the character of John as regard his mission end “the One” coming after him?

  • How can we hope to make it through similar times of testing

 V14-20

  • Why did Jesus start preaching from Galilee?
  • What does it mean that the “kingdom of God is at hand?”
  • Why do you think Jesus chose uneducated fishermen to be His disciples instead of people who were more educate?
  • List the risks the disciples faced by their decision to follow Jesus by abandoning the “learned” occupation.

 V21-28

  • Why do you think this demon possessed man went to this service?
  • What did this demon admit what most people in Israel denied?
  • What does this tell you about what true belief is?
  • Why might Jesus have told this demon to “be quiet?”
  • What difference was there between Jesus teaching and that of the scribes?
  • How did the people react?

  • Why did He go to a desolate place?

  • How do you react when you are interrupted?
  • What was Jesus’ current mission?

V40-45

  • Why did Jesus tell the healed man not to tell others what had happened?
  • What does this show us about Jesus’ character?
  • How does Jesus’ attitude contrast with what most people would do if they healed someone?
  • Why would this man “disobey” Jesus right after being healed by Him?
  • What were the results of this man’s “disobedience”?
  • What message did Jesus preach?
